Welcome
This traditional-style pub serves a good selection of lagers and three real ales, a great selection of spirits including gins and malt whiskies. With a pool table, dart board and various other games to choose from. It has a Gold award from the national 'Best Bar None' scheme. Boasting the largest beer garden in Durham City, beautifully landscaped, vibrant and relaxing along with an outside TV for sport etc. They offer a 'Light Bite' snack type menu at very reasonable prices. Although there is no designated pub car park, it's usually possible to park on the street nearby free on a weekday evening/Sunday. This is a friendly family-run pub offering a warm welcome to all its visitors.

Just inside the main entrance door, there is another internal door (84mm), this is at a right angle to the main door and therefore can cause access issues for certain wheelchairs etc.

Walking from the entrance into the bar (lounge) area is clear of steps and has movable seating. The general footpath through the seating area is around 110mm wide. The pub is then flat throughout.

Gents Toilet
Access to the gents toilet is through two doors (79mm), the first opens to the right and there is a small bend, and then the second opens to the left. the narrowest gap between is 66mm. Inside the gents toilet, there are three cisterns and a cubicle. The cubicle has a door opening to the right and at a right angle, the toilet is present and has a width of 27mm to the side and 110mm in front of the toilet. The toilet seat is 42mm from the floor.
Access to the Ladies is also through two doors, the first opens to the left (74mm) as does the second (73mm). The doors are quite close to each other and the narrowest part of the route is 54mm between sink unit and corner wall. There are two cubicles, both with doors (59mm), the distance at the side of the loo is 15mm, the length between the toilet and the door closed is 80mm and the height to the toilet is 40mm.
Bar / Games area
This is a typically one room pub, split into two sections by a supporting wall two thirds across the width of the room. It is all on one level and the route from the main bar / lounge area is relatively clear with movable seating and a games area including a pool table and darts area. Access from this area are the gents and ladies toilets and the garden area and this is all on one level.
Getting around outside
Access to the garden is through two sets of double doors and straight onto a flagged pation area. Both doors open to the left. The garden is all on one level and two thirds of it are grassed and barked areas. There is a rear fire exit gate to a private car park and can be used in emergency only.
