Woodclose Park is a Visit Britain 5 Star holiday park set in the beautiful Lune Valley just over the River Lune, less than a mile from Kirkby Lonsdale. The park is well laid out in an area of outstanding natural beauty, with a number of hardstanding pitches for tourers, secluded glamping pod field, self-catering flat, and over 80 pitches for Holiday Homes and Lodges. The outlying fields provide habitats for a rich variety of animals, birds, flora and fauna.

Entry to the park is through gates which are closed between 12 midnight and 7am. Should emergency access be required there is an out of hours staff calling system in operation via the public telephone situated in the main facilities building along the central corridor. Please note this service is free. On arrival visitors are requested to follow the signs and park just before the touring field entrance and booking at reception. This is a tarmac surface with a slight gradient to the reception entrance

The main entrance to the park is over a cattle grid, through gates which are closed between 12am and 7am. Should emergency access be required between these hours there is an out of hours staff calling system that you can access either with the emergency number writen on receptions door or via the public telephone situated around the main buliding - along the centeral corrridor (this service is free). There is a pedestrian gate to the left of the cattle grid for access.
On arrival guests are requested to follow signs and park before the touring field entrance and book in at reception. this is a tarmac surface with a slight gradient to the reception entrance.

Getting around inside
Reception/shop
Reception is located in the main building and also contains the shop. The entrance is a set of double opening doors which when fully opened provides an opening of 110cm in width. The counter is a height of 100cm, seating can be provided if required and a clipboard for writing if necessary. There is a non slip mat at the entrance in reception. The main area reception lighting is fluorescent tubes. We offer a hearing loop system for deaf and hard of hearing customers. Reception is open every day, please see the reception door for details on how to contact a member of staff when the reception is closed. The reception/shop is well laid out and very accessible. The main reception and facilities building is located next to the main touring area with level access via a gravelled road and tiled path.
Site facilities
The showers, toilets, dish washing, laundry, reception, shop, and waste disposal areas all have level access within the same centrally heated building. One of the family shower/toilet rooms is designed and fitted with a shower seat, grab handles, and low level clothing hooks to assist people with disability/poor mobility. Entrance doors to the facilities (door width 75cm) are accessed with individual security codes (door lock height 123cm), door handles height is 100cm. All floors are tiled with non-slip tiles with ceiling lights 25cm diameter.


Laundry
Access to the laundry is on a slight decline with level paving slabs. is 75cm clear with a threshold lip of 2.5cm and door handle 110cm high. The floor is tiled with non slip tiles with ceiling lights 25cm diameter. There are two washing machines and two dryers. One washing machine is a front loader with the handle 60cm high, and one dryer is a front loader with door handle 166cm high. There is one washing machine and one dryer top loader and 93cm high. The iron is coin operated and accessible from a standing position with an adjustable ironing board. There is a coin operating hair dryer and hair straighteners on a shelf 153cm high.

Getting around outside
Park roadways are all of well-maintained tarmac with a number of speed humps and are adequately well lit throughout so as not to cause light pollution. Roadways also serve as pedestrian ways. All touring pitches have electric, water and a grey waste point. There are three communal water points in the pod area. The public footpath which runs along the boundary of the park is undulating and gravel surface. The children’s play area is located opposite the main reception building and accessed via a grassed area and is designed to suit most children from nursery upwards with a range of equipment set in a base of rubber matting. The multi-play equipment includes a slide, climbing frame monkey bars and a table tenis table.

A public phone is located within the main facilities building with level access and fixed at a height acceptable for health and safety reasons (130cm). Mobile telephone reception is good in this area and variable elsewhere on the park. All accommodation has smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and fire equipment.
