Open all year, Wendover Woods is the perfect place for healthy outdoor activity. The forest environment provides a beautiful setting for peaceful walks and picnics. The cafe has wonderful views across the Chiltern Hills and has numerous trails and interesting walks. There is also a Go Ape course for Adults and a Tree Top Junior Group for the younger ones. Regular events are held throughout the year and you may also find a Gruffalo hiding in the woods.
Wendover Woods with its large car park, all ability Play trail and Sensory walk is increaseingly more accessible and open to all users.

Wendover Woods can be accessed by vehicle every day of the year except Christmas Day. The main gates are open from 8am. Locking times vary throughout the year.
The nearest train station is located in Wendover.
The nearest bus stop to Wendover Woods is on the B4009 Upper Icknield Way. This is on the 50 Bus route from Aylesbury which runs Mon-Sat and restricted service on a Sunday. Service 161 (Sundays and Bank Hols) travels along the B4009. Wendover Woods can be accessed on foot throughout the year at several points around the perimeter. Due to the nature of the site many of the access points lead to rough terrain and/or steep inclines.
Dogs are welcome on site except in the children's play area, but we ask owners to consider keeping them on leads at all times in the central area and around the cafe. Dog drinking bowls are available at the cafe in the Woods.

Wendover Woods car park has an ANPR parking system which reads your registration plate on the way in. Pay for your parking at the end of your visit at the pay machines.

Information Point
The Information Point is the main reception.
There are no doors to the Information Point, instead, staff service is provided through a large open window. A hearing loop is also avaliable. The area is well lit with fluorescent lights above and on the side of the building.
Staff members are happy to assist visitors on request.
Information about the site, maps and leaflets are avaliable from this point. Forestry england will consider all requests to make publications avaliable in alternative formats. However, this would need to be arranged in advance of visiting the site.

There are no ATM cash machines on site. Go ape, Wendover Woods cafe and the Information Point have card facilities.

Changing Places toilet is situated behind the Information Point.
The Changing Places toilet includes: H frame hoist, adjustable bed, adjustable sink, privacy screen, coat hooks and rails next to the toilet.
The key to access Changing Places is with the staff at the information Point.
Place to eat and drink
There is level access and a gentle slope to the cafe.
Seating consits of wooden chairs and tables. High chairs are avaliable.

The woodland is a great place to come and enjoy a picnic. With over 600 acres to choose from you can take your time to pick ther perfect spot.
Several round tables located behind the cafe which have three seats have a space for wheelchair users.
Another dedicated picnic area can be found past Go Ape within the BBQ area. These benches are not accessible for all.
Play trail
The Play trail is a 1km surfacced trail, fully accessible for wheelchair users. It offers a short loop and a long loop to suit different abilities. The trail is designed to encourage visitors to explore further into the woodland.
There are 8 pieces of play equipment along the trail and are appropriate for a variety of ages, with adults, and older carers being able to interact to.

Go Ape
Go Ape is 150m away from the Information Point connected by smooth surfaced paths. Seating is available within this area.
Tree Top Challenge is a physical and challenging course that requires participants to wear a harness and then climb, overcome different obstacles and use zip wires. It takes between two to three hours to complete.
The course can accommodate individuals who may be less able to or have mental health needs. It is important that participants can lift themselves and move around the course. For visitors who have learning difficulties or are visually impaired there is an option for two responsible adults to guide or supervise a participant around the course. Visitors with prosthetic limbs have taken previously taken part on the Go ape course and any additional needs can be accommodated with no extra cost.
Tree Top Adventure is another shorter option to accommodate younger participants or those who may not be able to complete the larger course.
It is recommended to visit the course prior to making a booking.
