All 163 pitches come with electric hook ups and we offer a choice of type of pitches.

Travel by public transport
Kiveton Bridge Train Station is the nearest train station to the campsite.This is on the Northern Line Route to Sheffield and Lincoln.
The larger train stations of Sheffield, Meadowhall, Chesterfield and Rotherham are approximately 11 to 12 miles away from the campsite.
The Country Park and the campsite are on the Sustrans National Cycle Route 6 and Transpennine Trail Spur in between Chesterfield, Sheffield and Rotherham. For campers who wish to walk or cycle to the site please check the information on these routes before booking to stay to see if they are suitable for your needs.
Travel by taxi
The Waleswood Caravan and Camping Park Team have a list of taxi companies licenced with Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council. There are six companies that have wheelchair accessible vehicles on the list in Rotherham. The companies listed here are based near to the campsite, but not the only ones available.
Parking
Customers should pre-book to stay at Waleswood Caravan and Camping Park online at www.waleswood.co.uk
(You can book by telephone or email with the team direct if this is easier for you).
From 4th July 2020, customers should receive the welcome pack information via email prior to arrival. (If you have not received this information 48 hours in advance of your arrival date please contact the team by phone or email).
On arrival to site after 4th July 2020, you do not need to exit your vehicle on arrival.
Please pull your vehicle in on the right hand side of the road near the reception building, wait in your vehicle and a member of staff will show you to your pitch location.
If you require a site visit prior to booking this needs to be pre-arranged. (Please do not just turn up at our campsite without pre-arranging to have a site visit as it is highly likely that you will not be given access through the barrier system).

Getting around inside
Reception and Licenced Coffee Shop
The reception, coffee shop and licenced bar building has seating. There are wooden chairs with back rest and tables at a height of 715 mm, low sofas with coffee tables, accessible toilet facility.
(Please check if this facility is open for your visit as when we re-open 4th July 2020 this will be a take away service only).
Site facilities
The emergency cords in the accessible rooms have an alarm that sounds and a flashing light outside. This connects also to reception building to inform them someone requires assistance.
Other Accessible Shower / Toilet Facilities include doors at least 930 mm wide, pull outwards and have rails at the side of them and on the doors inside the facility.
Lever operated taps on the basins.

Laundry Room at Shower Block A
The laundry room can only be used by one person at a time when we reopen 4th July 2020. This can be arranged at reception.
The laundry room has an ironing board available. You have to use your own iron.
There is a deep sink to hand wash clothes. The driers are at the top of the washing and drier units, if you need assistance with this please let a member of staff know.
Bar area at the Reception and Licenced Coffee Shop Building
The bar area is at the same location as the reception and coffee shop. There is a low counter available if required.
Seating inside available - chairs with back rests have tables at a height of 715 mm, and low sofas with coffee tables, seating outside is benches.

The shop has moveable units on castors / wheels if you need them moving or assistance please ask a member of staff.

Accessible Toilet / Shower -Right hand and front transfer to the toilet, Space right of the toilet as you look at it 1700mm, Space left of the toilet as you look at it 220mm, Space in front of the toilet 1700mm.

Shower Block A has an accessible family wet room, this includes shower with hand rails and wall fixed pull down seat, toilet with hand rails, adult size rise and fall changing bed and a bath (bath not accessible).
Please note that these facilities can be used by any customers if you need a specific type of transfer toilet and access to this near where your pitch is please contact us for advice.
Not a specific accessible facility - however the Ladies and Male Changing areas have vanity areas, toilets, washing areas, baby changing, family sized shower room and lower sink areas.
Getting around outside
The sensory garden is located near the area of grass marked on the campsite maps as the relaxation area.
The path to it from reception has changing gradients from 0.1% to 9%, the staff have a map where they can provide specific gradient information on particular areas of the site. It is difficult to print all this information in a reasonable format but we can email a PDF document to you if you need it in adavnce of your visit.
The area where the sensory garden is has plants with variuos aromas and an accessible bench, to have some time out and a bit of peace and quiet.
Designated Walking Trail
Route to Rother Valley Country Park and back
The route from the campsite to the country park is uneven and steep. If you are a wheelchair user or unsteady on your feet it is advisable to drive to Rother Valley Country Park due to the terain on this route., the staff at reception can give you a car park pass for the country park to gain free parking.
On re-opening the campsite 4th July there may be limited parking spaces in the country park therefore we advise you go to the country park before 10.30 am or ask the campsite staff to radio the gate staff to see if the car parking still has availability for you.
The route from the path at the side of the tent field is uneven and steep this brings you to the main road into the park.
You can choose to go over the bridge in to the main part of the park and walk around the two leisure lakes which is approx 5km then back up the same way you came.
Alternatively you can go straight on on to the Trans Pennine Trail and turn right up to the campsite to the viewing area, the path back up to the campsite is not as steep as the one at the side of the tent field, it is however narrower and can be muddy.
Pot Washing Area, Outdoor Play Area, Elsan Point, Service Areas, Motorhome Service Point
The pot washing area is lit at night and covered, it offers a food preparation sink and washing dishes sinks. It is on level ground.There is a seating area nearby.
The Play Area is near Shower Block A, Reception, Outdoor seating for the Coffee shop / Bar area.
The Play Area has a Team Swing where a child could transfer to use this, or an adult could use the swing with a child. (This area may not be available when we re-open 4th July we will be following Government Guidelines).
The outdoor table tennis and table football are near reception and on a flat level surface.(This area may not be available when we re-open 4th July we will be following Government Guidelines).
The viewing area has a bench to sit on to admire the views of the park lakes.

Items available for Hire, Manual Wheelchair, Mobile Hoist and Electric Scooter
Clark and Partners require a minimum 48 hours notice for each product to be hired so they can PDI before delivery.
The deposit is payable on order and would be refundable to the customer once they have collected and assessed the product to ensure no damage has been caused during hire.
Weekend Hire Friday to Monday, Week Hire Monday to Monday.
Delivery and Collection must be arranged when you are on site, Waleswood Caravan and Camping Park can not store these items or save them for you.

All pitches have electric hook up points, therefore you can charge your electric scooter on your pitch with your own electric points.
Emergency evacuation procedures
The Welcome Pack has information regarding the Fire Evacuation Procedures. You should receive this information prior to going to your pitch onsite. The flashing lights system for the fire alarm is only on the buildings it is not available for each touring or tent area.
Customer care support
The Waleswood Caravan and Camping Park Team are onsite during the day and security staff are onsite on an evening.
Rother Valley Country Park has numerous accessible cycles available for hire at concessionary rates.
There is a free wheelchair and scooter hire service at the cycle centre for the Country Park customers on a first come first served basis, these are for use within the main country park areas. Family cycles are very popular for 4 to 6 people and go karts for those with limited balance. There are accessible cycles for use with your arms and a cycle that a wheelchair can fit on the front.
