Welcome
Reputedly England's finest example of a Motte and Bailey Castle with a splendid 13th Century Gatehouse. Offering an interactive recreation of medieval life, visitors can explore the well stocked basement and armoury, take a seat at the guards' table to learn about the Castle's past and climb to the top of the tower to look out across Tonbridge town.
Visitors can either opt to explore the Castle at their own pace with a written tour, or can take an informative and engaging audio tour at no extra cost. The audio tour lasts approximately 45 minutes to an hour and includes an optional tour of the Castle grounds which lasts an additional 30 minutes.
