Accessibility Guide for Stirling iCentre

Travel by public transport

You can get to Stirling iCentre by bus.

The bus stop is less than 10 metres away from the iCentre. The bus will stop in front of the Stirling Youth Hostel. The entrance to Stirling iCentre is through the large gate on the left (very slightly further up the hill). The bus that stops at the Youth Hostel is the Park and Ride bus from Castleview at the west of Stirling, just off junction 10 of the M9 motorway. https://www.stirling.gov.uk/parkandride. Enter postcode FK9 4TW as your destination point for in-car satellite navigation systems. The bus runs every 20 minutes Monday to Saturday from 08:57 to 17:44. Please note this is the only bus that stops at St John Street and no buses come directly from the bus station. The bus stop is 0.0 miles / 0.0 km from Stirling iCentre.

The Land Train (not wheelchair accessible) also stops at the Youth Hostel on request. This service is Monday - Friday 10am to 5pm, and everyday during the school holidays. The first train leaves Forthside car park at 10am. The Land Train is an hourly ride on a road vehicle that looks like a small train. Stirling has a train and bus station. The train station has accessible platforms and lifts. Taxis are available outside the train station. The bus station is 57 metres to the left of the train station. The train station is 0.5 miles / 16.9 km away from the iCentre.

Parking

There is parking near the venue. There are accessible parking spaces. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is free.

There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point has a dropped kerb.

From the car park to the entrance, there is level access. There is a permanent ramp.

The path is sloped.

Parking is available behind the Old Town Jail. 2 parking spaces are designated accessible parking. There is a drop off point directly to the left of the iCentre before heading through the second set of gates to the parking area. The Old Town Jail parking area is located on a slope.

Please note that there are cobbled areas in the grounds.

The main door is side hung and manual.

We have contrast markings on all glass doors, contrast markings on all full-height windows and high colour contrast between walls and doorframes.

From the main entrance to the shop, there is level access. The route is 960mm wide, or more. The route through the shop is 800mm wide, or more.

We have a hearing loop in Front Counter.

There is a grassed area in the grounds of the Old Town Jail that can be used as a toilet area for assistance dogs, less than 10 meters away from Stirling iCentre. Stirling Council does not have a listed dedicated toilet area for dogs.
