Staunton Harold Reservoir is an attractive and relaxing haven for walkers, wildlife enthusiasts and families alike. it provides an interesting and varied day out for all. It combines great watery views with an amazing wildflower meadow, a children’s playground, dog friendly cafe, completed with walking trails and space for family fun and picnics.

Parking
Car parking is pay and display but Blue Badge holders can park for free. There are eight dispalbled bays
The main car park can be found at the Melbourne end of Calke Road close to the reservoir. The car park is situated on a slope but each parking level is flat and surfaced with tarmac. There are 8 blue badge holder bays.

Entrance to the main cafe is via one of two doorways. the first is 840mm wide and opens inwards. The second is through the double doors by the outside seating are which opens outwards and is 1,725mm

There is one disabled toilet complete with pull cord alarm which activates both sound and light. the toilet has contrasting colour handrails on both side, the right one is fixed and eth left one moveable.
The sink has a large push button tap and is approx. 710mm off the floor. The hairdryer is hot air and is considered quite loud.
Lighting with in the toilets is a mix of natural and flouorescent lighting.
Baby changing facilities are located in both the ladies and the gents toilets.

Entrance to the cafe is via one of two doors. The first is 840mm wide and opens inwards. The second is through the double doors which are 1725 and open outwards.
Inside the tables are 750mm high with moveable seating throughout. There are also two bar seating counters on either side of the room these are 1010mm high.
There is an induction point at the till
The till counter is 910mm high
The fridge is self-service but staff are available to assist customers
Menus are on handwritten blackboards - staff will assist with explaining menus if required
Staff will assist visitors as required if they experience difficulty queuing, finding a suitable table and or carrying food and drink

Outside there are fixed picnic tables with a height of 800mm with gaps to provide access for wheelchair users
Getting around outside
Wild flower meadow walk
A scenic footpath leads through the woodland from the southern end of the car park, along past the sailing club and along to the wild flower meadow, most of this walk has reservoir views. The surface is crushed stone which can be muddy when wet. The walk has a variable gradient but no steep slopes
