Welcome

On the coast of Westgate-on-Sea lies St Mildred's Bay, a beautiful cliff lined sandy bay with promenade and tidal pool. A small amount of beach remains at high tide except on spring tides when it is completely covered.

Nearby activities include tennis courts and cafes on the promenade

You can get to St Mildred's Bay by bus and train.
Bus stop: Norman Road Bus route: Stagecoach 'Breeze' no. 8 The bus stop is 0 miles / 0.0 km from St Mildred's Bay.
The nearest train station is Westgate Railway Station. The train station is 0.4 miles / 0.6 km from St Mildred's Bay.

Parking

There is parking near the venue. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is not free.
There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point has a dropped kerb.

St Mildred’s offers step free access and disabled parking in the car park over the bridge, although there is also plenty of parking available in the residential streets near this beach. A disabled toilet is available in the cafe that is located on the promenade.

There is not an official drop off point, however visitors can drop off at Sussex Gardens to allow access to the promenade and slipway.

Beach

The beach access point is 100.00meters from the nearest car park.
From the nearest car park to the beach, there is level access. There is a permanent ramp. There is a portable ramp. The path is 1200mm wide, or more.
The entrance is 3700mm wide.
There are beach wheelchairs.
There is a First Aid Station.

Bay Inspectors in season assist with minor first aid.

RNLI Lifeguards are in situ weekends and Bank Holidays from 23rd May to 4th July and then 7 days a week until 6th September.

The wheelchair is located in the wooden Bay Inspectors hut which is adjacent to the Lifeguard station on the promenade.

The Bay Inspector on this beach also looks after West Bay. We advise pre-booking for both St Mildreds and West Bay so the Bay Inspector can be on hand to assist you. There will be contact numbers displayed on both bays if the Bay Inspector is not present when you arrive.
