Welcome

Glamping is a fresh and fun holiday experience and Toms Eco lodge Safari Tents takes it to the next level. These Safari tents are nestled away in the glorious surrounding of Tapnell Farm. The Safari tents are generously decked out with comfy sofas, a rustic kitchen, dining area,  and a log burning stove. They have cosy bedrooms and have their own private shower and toilet.

The route to the bedroom is 750mm wide, or more.

Travel by public transport

You can get to Safari Tent by boat or ferry.
The nearest port is Yarmouth. The port is 4.4 miles / 7.1 km from Safari Tent.

There are alternative ferry routes that arrive in Fishbourne/ Ryde Pier Head (Wightlink) or East Cowes/ Cowes (Red Funnel)

You can get a taxi with Norton Taxi by calling 01983 759955.

Parking

There is parking near the venue. There are accessible parking spaces. Parking is free.
Parking is available on site for 10 cars. Each accommodation has designated parking space located within 300m. The parking has a gravelled surface with a wood chip walkway leading to the accommodation. From the car park to the entrance, there is level access. The path is sloped.
The route is 1700mm wide, or more.

There are various routes to the safari tents which are pedestrian routes only. The roues are uneven surfaces covered in woodchip or grass. They are on a slight slope and can vary in different weather conditions.

There are various methods of lighting

Bedrooms

Most bedrooms have windows.
Bedrooms have floor standing lights, bedside lamps and natural daylight.
Lights are LED and energy saving. Some lights can be controlled independently.
All bedrooms are non-smoking.
We have non-allergic bedding.
No bedrooms have fitted carpets.
We can move the bedroom furniture, to improve accessibility.

Self catering kitchen

Safari Tent

We have an open plan kitchen.
From the main entrance to the kitchen, there is level access.
The route is 800mm wide, or more.
The work surface is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The hob is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The oven is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The table and plates have high colour contrast.

Lounge

Safari Tent

From the main entrance to the lounge, there is level access. The route is 800mm wide, or more. The door is 800mm wide.

The doors from the main entrance are double zip canvas doors which lead in to the living area and the kitchen area which is all open plan.

Shop

Honesty Shed

From the main entrance to the shop, there is 1 step. There is no lift and no ramp.
The route through the shop is 800mm wide, or more.

There is an information table that is situated in the middle of the honesty shed but this could be moved to provide space for a wheelchair user

The door is 800mm wide.
The kitchen is back towards the right.

Getting around outside

The outside area is mainly woodchip and grassed these areas are on a slight slope and may change with the weather.

The Red Cross is available for hire of equipment

There are various grassy areas that can be used for toileting. May we ask that all owners/ carers of the assistance dogs clear up after their dogs. Please note that the assistance dogs are not allowed in with the wallabies.
We have an area to charge mobility scooters and battery powered wheelchairs.

Power points are located all of the site that can be used if necessary

You can hire mobility equipment from British Red Cross by calling 0844871 8000.
