Welcome

Rusholme Cottage is a delightful, traditional two bedroom cottage located on the banks of the River Ouse in the Vale of York on our family farm in Drax. It offers spacious accommodation for 4/5 people and a cot, There is a large double bedroom with a kingsize bed, a twin bedroom and a family bathroom on the first floor. On the ground floor is a well equipped kitchen, dining room and sitting room with an open log fire on the ground floor.

Bedding, towels,heating and logs are all included in the price, also a guided tour around the Windfarm by farmer Phil.

The main entrance has 1 step. There is no lift and no ramp.

Travel by public transport

The cottage is in a very rural location on our family farm. The nearest bus stop is two miles away, and the train station 6 miles away. It is recommended that guests have their own transport such as a car. We have plenty of free parking.

Travel by taxi

You can get a taxi with Station Taxis of Selby by calling 01757212285. The taxi company has a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
You can get a taxi with Drax Private Hire by calling 07710 031555. You can get a taxi with B and D private Hire by calling 07885205693.

All three very reliable taxi companies. 

Parking

We have a car park. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is free.
There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point does not have a dropped kerb.
From the parking to the main entrance, there are 2 steps. There is no ramp and no lift.

The cottage has a designated parking space about 10 metres from the front door. There is a narrow path that leads from the drive, through the garden gate to the cottage doorway. There is a small step at the garden gate. Guests are welcome to park on the driveway whilst they are loading and unloading their vehicle.

We have high colour contrast between walls and doorframes.

Bedrooms

All bedrooms have windows.
Bedrooms have ceiling lights, bedside lamps, desk or table lamps and natural daylight.
Lights are energy saving. Some lights can be controlled independently.
TVs have subtitles.
All bedrooms are non-smoking.
We have non-allergic bedding.
All bedrooms have fitted carpets.
No bedrooms have level access. The bedroom nearest the main entrance has 15 steps.
We have bathrooms with a bath and overhead shower.

We have a separate kitchen and dining room. The route is 860mm wide, or more.
From the main entrance to the kitchen, there is 1 step. There is no lift and no ramp.
The hob is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The sink is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The oven is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The table and plates have high colour contrast.
From the main entrance to the dining room, there is 1 step. There is no lift and no ramp.
