A great example of wetlands in Scotland, Lochwinnoch is an ideal day out for all the family. It's the perfect spot to watch whooper swans and a wide variety of ducks during the winter including wigeon. In spring, look out for the elaborate displays of great crested grebes.

Lochwinnoch railway station is situated 400 metres south-east of the visitor centre. It is directly across the road from the reserve with traffic lights to cross.
Parking
The reserve is located 18 miles south-west of Glasgow, beside the A760 Largs Road, which is off the A737 Irvine Road (easily reached from the M8 at Junction 28A).
• We have a car park. There are accessible parking spaces. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. There is a £3 charge per vehicle for up to 6 hours parkings or 30 minutes free parking for those just wishing to use the shop. Parking is free for blue badge holders.
• There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point does not have a dropped kerb.
• From the car park to the entrance, there is level access. There is a permanent ramp.

There are areas wide enough for wheelchair access and friendly staff and volunteers on hand to help. Hot and cold drinks are available to purchase ,along with a range of sandwiches and snacks.
