Welcome
Canvey Wick is a 93 hectare Site of Special Scientific Interest on Canvey Island in Essex. Rich in plants, insects and animals, there are as many species per square metre here as there are in a rainforest. As such, it's one of the most important British sites for endangered invertebrates. The RSPB manage the site as a nature reserve in partnership with Buglife and on behalf of the Land Trust.

There are regular services from Shoeburyness and London Fenchurch Street. From Benfleet station, you can reach the reserve by foot, bike, bus or taxi. For more information about train times please visit the C2C website before you travel.
Parking
Car park open daily from 9am to 5pm or dusk if earlier.
Height restriction of 2.1 m.
The car park is compacted gravel.

Access to the reserve is via a kissing gate with radar key.
There is access to the sea wall and Roscommon Way via heavy duty kissing gates at the south and east sides of the reserve.
All gates have radar key access.

The sandy mound has a steep sandy slope to get to the top. Adjacent viewing locations from the sea wall outside of the nature reserve.
