Welcome

Ramsgate offers a popular long stretch of sandy beach situated right next to the famed Royal Harbour (the only one in the UK) and Marina. With children's amusements, arcades and restaurants offering al fresco dining, the beach area will offer something for everyone and has a real continental feel.

There are seasonal lifeguards, kiosks serving food, deck chair and lounger hire, toilets and bay information available.

-Dog ban in place from 1st May until 30th September, dogs not permitted at anytime

Travel by public transport

You can get to Ramsgate Main Sands by bus and train.
The nearest bus stop is located on Harbour Parade, approximately 200-300 metres from the Main Sands. The bus stop is 0.2 miles / 0.3 km from Ramsgate Main Sands .
The nearest train station is Ramsgate . The train station is 1.1 miles / 1.8 km from Ramsgate Main Sands .

The station is just over a mile away from the Main Sands, but there is a very regular and accessible bus service- 'The Loop,' directly from the station to the Harbour. There is also a taxi rank outside the station, for a direct route to the beach.

Parking

There is parking near the venue. Parking is not free.
There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point has a dropped kerb.

There is no official drop-off point but a suitable place to drop-off would be at the end of Harbour Parade, near the turning circle and amusements. This is directly opposite the step-free access to the beach. (slope) 

There are car parks close by, at both ends of the beach. Marina Esplanade Car Park (CT11 8TD) is closer to the beach and step-free access than any other. There are two here- Marina Esplanade 1, and Marine Esplanade 2, with 257 spaces + 14 disabled bays across the two. Marina Esplanade 2 is closer to a slope to the beach. 

Alternatively, there is also parking in the Harbour Area both on street and Pier Yard (CT11 8LS) (please note, no disabled blue badge concessions in this car park) which are also within 100 metres to a slope (slopes either end of Royal Victoria Pub) 

There is also another car park, slightly further away, Royal Harbour Multi-storey (CT11 9HL) with 394 spaces (including 22 disabled bays. This is approximately 0.3 miles from the Main Sands.

Beach

The beach access point is 50.00meters from the nearest car park.
From the nearest car park to the beach, there is level access. The path is 5500mm wide, or more.
The entrance is 5500mm wide.
There is tactile paving at the beach entrance.
There are Deck chairs.
There is a First Aid Station.

RNLI can assist with minor first aid. RNLI weekend and Bank Holidays 23 May - 4 July. 7 days a week until 6 September.
