Welcome

At the Coppermines Lakes Cottages we want to make everyone's stay as enjoyable as possible.  We aim to accurately describe our facilities and services to give you the confidence to book the right cottage for your specific requirements.

Level access

The main entrance has 2 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

Travel by public transport

You can get to Poppy Cottage by bus.
The X12 bus from Barrow and the 505 bus from Windermere both stop at The Crown in the centre of Coniston. Southlakeland Bus Timetables available at http://www.cumbria.gov.uk/buses. The bus stop is 0.4 miles / 0.6 km from Poppy Cottage.

Poppy Cottage is located up a steep hill. The walk from the bus stop includes a short but very steep climb.

Travel by taxi

You can get a taxi with Bluebird Tours by calling 07814 728390.

Parking

We have a car park. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is free.
There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point has a dropped kerb.
From the car park to the entrance, there is level access.

There is a designated parking space for one car to the side of Poppy Cottage.

The main door is side hung and manual.

Getting around inside

Bedrooms

All bedrooms have windows.
Bedrooms have ceiling lights, bedside lamps and natural daylight.
All bedrooms are non-smoking.
All bedrooms have fitted carpets.
No bedrooms have level access. The bedroom nearest the main entrance has 12 steps.
We have bathrooms with a bath and overhead shower.

We have an open plan kitchen.
From the main entrance to the kitchen, there is level access.
The work surface is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The hob is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The sink is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The oven is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.

Poppy Cottage Lounge

From the main entrance to the lounge, there is level access.

Poppy Cottage Lounge, Dining Area and Kitchen are all open plan.

Getting around outside

Poppy Cottage Garden

From the main entrance to the area, there are 6 steps.

Poppy Garden is located across the lane from the cottage and down several stone steps.

The nearest RADAR toilet is located at Coniston Tourist Information Centre.
We have an area to charge mobility scooters and battery powered wheelchairs.
You can hire mobility equipment from South Lakes Mobility in Ulverston or Kendal by calling 01229 585 009. Wheelchairs may be able to be hired from Coniston Care Scheme by calling 015394 41868.
