Welcome

Polrunny Farm and Holiday Cottages are situated an area of outstanding natural beauty in the hills above the picturesque harbour village of Boscastle on North Cornwall's spectacular North coast.

Elderberry Cottage is one of four self-catering cottages on the farm. This single-level 2-bedroom cottage has panoramic views across the fields to the sea.

We hope that the information within this guide will help you judge for yourselves whether it meets your particular accessibility needs.

Travel by public transport

You can get to Polrunny Farm - Elderberry Cottage by bus and train.
The nearest bus stop is down the hill from Polrunny Farm, outside the Doctor's surgery in Boscastle. The bus stop is 0.7 miles / 1.1 km from Polrunny Farm - Elderberry Cottage.
The nearest train station is Bodmin Parkway. The train station is 18 miles / 29.0 km from Polrunny Farm - Elderberry Cottage.

Travel by taxi

Whilst it is possible to reach Polrunny Farm through a combination of train, bus and walking or taxi, most people that stay here have access to a car.

Parking

We have a car park. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is free.
There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point has a dropped kerb.
From the car park to the entrance, there is level access. The route is 1000mm wide, or more.

Car parking is available in the courtyard in front of the cottage.

The light and airy double-aspect kitchen, lounge diner at Elderberry Cottage.

All bedrooms are non-smoking.
We have non-allergic bedding.
No bedrooms have fitted carpets.
All of our linen is bought with the needs of visitors with asthma or allergies in mind.
We can move the bedroom furniture, to improve accessibility.

Getting around outside

From the main entrance to the gardens, there is level access.
The route is 2000mm wide, or more.

The main courtyard gravel and concrete seating area, with its array of seating and garden furniture is accessible directly from the front door of Elderberry Cottage. This sheltered area is a real sun-trap in the mornings.

Breakfast garden

From the main entrance to this area, there is level access. The route is 1000mm wide, or more. The entrance is 2000mm wide.

The grassed breakfast garden, with spectacular sea and countryside views, is approximately 50 metres from Elderberry Cottage. It has step-free access and garden furniture that includes a table with space for wheelchair users to access the table.

Farm Garden

From the main entrance to the area, there are 10 steps.

The sloping grass Farm Garden, with its garden furniture and children's play equipment, is accessed via stone steps.

The 'dog run' is located approximately 75 yards from the cottage.
We have an area to charge mobility scooters and battery powered wheelchairs.
