Things to See and Do
Jurassic Sea
Jurassic Sea is a level area with display cabinets on both sides of the walk way. Visitors should easily be able to move round within this area, as exhibits are inside wall mounted cases with no floor obstructions.
Ironstone Cottage
The Ironstone Cottage is a genuine steel workers cottage which was moved from the centre of Scunthorpe and rebuilt and made part of the Museum. As you can imagine a traditional steel worker's cottage was small inside. The Cottage has two levels, one level with the floor, so guests can enter the cottage wtih no problem and pass through into the next gallery space.
The lower level has a small step to access it but you don't have to go into this area, you can view the contents of the room from the top of the step.
Steel Town
Steel Town is a straight room, bwteen reception and Dudley's Den. Exhibits are stored in wall mounted cases, there are no items on the floor so guests can freely move through the space.
The People's War Gallery
The Post War gallery is all one level, with no floor obstructions.
Chairs are available if visitors need to rest and sit down.
Post War Gallery
These are recreations of realistic rooms from that time period, no visitors are allowed into the rooms you view from a safe distance so there should be no issues with access.
