Welcome

Norden House is a self-catering holiday let that comfortably sleeps fourteen in seven bedrooms. The old Georgian farmhouse is situated on the Norden Farm estate within its own grounds overlooking the ruins of nearby Corfe Castle.

The House has ample private parking and offers spacious living areas. There is a double room downstairs with disabled access and an en-suite wet room. Upstairs, all six bedrooms (four doubles and two twins) are a generous size with TVs and en-suites. There is also a separate bathroom and WC.

Some staff have Next Generation Text and disability awareness training.

Staff are available 24 hours a day.

Travel by public transport

You can get to Norden House by bus, train and boat or ferry.
There are two request bus stops at the site entrance on the A351 on either side of the road. The Purbeck Breezer number 40 is the bus route. The bus stop is 0 miles / 0.0 km from Norden House.
The nearest train station is Wareham Train Station . The train station is 5 miles / 8.1 km from Norden House.
The nearest port is Sandbanks-Studland Ferry . The port is 9 miles / 14.5 km from Norden House.

Please ensure you check that the ferry is running before planning your journey.

Travel by taxi

You can get a taxi with Corfe Castle Taxis by calling 01929 508200. You can get a taxi with Excel Taxis Wareham by calling 01929 448066. You can get a taxi with Jurassic Cabs Ltd by calling 01929 558119.

Parking

We have a car park. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is free.
There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point has a dropped kerb.
From the car park to the entrance, there is level access. The route is 900mm wide, or more.

The main driveway is gravelled, the car park is large and you can drive upto the entrance, where there is a concrete ramp that leads to the porch then to the main door.

Norden House

Bedrooms

All bedrooms have windows.
Bedrooms have ceiling lights, bedside lamps and natural daylight.
Lights are halogen, LED and energy saving. Some lights can be controlled independently.
TVs have subtitles.
All bedrooms are non-smoking.
We have non-allergic bedding.
All bedrooms have fitted carpets.
From the main entrance to this area, there is level access.
The direction of transfer onto the toilet is to the left and right.

Self catering kitchen

We have a separate kitchen and dining room. From the main entrance to the kitchen, there is level access.
The route is 760mm wide, or more.
The door is 700mm wide.
The work surface is available with clear underspace.
The oven is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The table and plates have high colour contrast.
From the main entrance to the dining room, there is level access. The route is 760mm wide, or more. The door is 760mm wide.

The kitchen can be accessed either by the hallway that leads to a door of 760mm or via the dining room that has a door width of 760mm.  To enter the kitchen from the dining room there is an archway that is 820mm wide.

Lounge

1st Lounge

From the main entrance to the lounge, there is level access. The route is 860mm wide, or more. The door is 860mm wide.

There is a small coffee table in the middle of the room that can be moved if necessary.

2nd Lounge

From the main entrance to this area, there is level access. The route is 800mm wide, or more.
The door is 1120mm wide.

In this lounge there is a large coffee table in the middle that has sofas or chairs around 3 sides.  The narrowest point is 560mm but the coffee table can be moved if needed.

Disabled Access Bedroom

From the main entrance to this area, there is level access. There is a permanent ramp. The route is 900mm wide, or more.

The narrowest width around the bed in the ground floor bedroom is 660mm.

Getting around outside

BBQ Hut

There is a permanent ramp. The route is 900mm wide, or more. The entrance is 1mm wide.
From the main entrance to the area, there is 1 step.

The BBQ hut is located at the bottom of the lawn. It can be reached by the main entrance that has a ramp or via the back door that has 3 steps before going onto a gravelled area that leads to the lawn.  The BBQ hut has a small step to get over at the entrance.

There is a large lawn area located at the side of the house.
We have an area to charge mobility scooters and battery powered wheelchairs.

There is an exterior electric point in the car park.
