Welcome

Our Modulogs were designed specifically for us, making them unique to Tom’s Eco Lodge guests! These cosy accommodation pods are fully insulated and kitted out with heaters, comfy sofas (which fold out into sofa beds), log burners, dining tables, compact kitchens with all the essentials, two bedrooms, and separate shower room and toilet.

Both have WiFi, and electricity for lighting and plug sockets.

Outside each modulog has its own decked area, with seating, BBQ area, and a cosy wood-fired hot tub designed for 2 people.

Kitchen facilities include: microwave/grill combi oven, 2 ring electric hob, fridge, belfast sink, kettle, toaster

From the main entrance to the bedroom, there is level access.
The route to the bedroom is 750mm wide, or more.
The bedroom door is 750mm wide, or more.
There is unobstructed floor space 1200mm by 900mm, or more.

Hearing

The (bedroom) TVs have subtitles.

General

Staff are available 24 hours a day.

Travel by public transport

You can get to Modulogs by boat or ferry.
The nearest port is Yarmouth. The port is 4.4 miles / 7.1 km from Modulogs.

There are various ferries that travel to the Isle of Wight. Lymington to Yarmouth via Wightlink is our nearest route, but there is also a Wightlink Ferry that travels from Portsmouth to Fishbourne, these both take cars and passengers. If you were coming just as a passenger then you could get the Fast cat that takes you from Portsmouth to Ryde pier head.  Alternatively you could come on the passenger ferry that is from Southampton to West Cowes. 

Travel by taxi

You can get a taxi with Norton Taxi by calling 01983 759955.

During the summer months the Tapnell route is on a limited bus service, this is subject to availabilty.

Parking

There is parking near the venue. There are accessible parking spaces. Parking is free.
The parking that is provided at Toms eco lodge is a communal area. Each accommodation has a designated parking space. There are wheel barrows provided for you to transport your luggage to your accommodation. The car park is mainly gravelled. The paths leading to the accommodation is woodchip. From the parking to the main entrance, there is 1 step. There is no ramp and no lift.

The door is 840mm wide.

Getting around inside

Bedrooms

All bedrooms have windows.
Bedrooms have ceiling lights, wall lights, spot lights and natural daylight.
Lights are LED. TVs have subtitles.
All bedrooms are non-smoking.
We have non-allergic bedding.
No bedrooms have fitted carpets.
We use eco friendly cleaning products called bio, their motto is 'We believe it is possible to have effective, natural and safe cleaning products that don't cost the earth, you have nothing to lose, our world has everything to gain.

Accessible bedroom main bedroom

The route to the bedroom is 650mm wide, or more. The bedroom door is 650mm wide. There is 900mm at the side of the bed. The bed is 650mm high. The bedroom is double. The bathroom is separate. It is not an ensuite.
The bathroom door is 650mm wide.
The bathroom has a separate shower. The direction of transfer onto the toilet is to the front only. There is 450mm at the side of the toilet.
There is 400mm in front of the toilet. The toilet seat is 400mm high.
The basin is 900mm high. The taps are lever operated. There is no space under the basin.
The walls and the bathroom fittings have high colour contrast.

The floors are wooden and fittings are white

Self catering kitchen

We have an open plan kitchen.
From the main entrance to the kitchen, there is level access.
The route is 950mm wide, or more.
The work surface is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The hob is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The sink is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The table and plates have high colour contrast.

Accessibility equipment

Assistance dogs can toilet on the grassy areas, and the woodland area and the gardens in the accommodation. But we ask that the owners/ carers clean up after their dogs
We have an area to charge mobility scooters and battery powered wheelchairs.

There are power points located in most areas of the accommodation, restuarants and the farm park

You can hire mobility equipment from British Red Cross by calling 01983 530000.
