Welcome

McLaren Leisure is a community run leisure centre providing inclusive sport and leisure facilities for people living, working and visiting Callander and the Trossachs and Teith area. Situated in the Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park and serving a large rural population, the centre is a vital resource for keeping people active, avoiding social isolation and supporting health and wellbeing.  Our friendly staff are always on hand to make sure that you get the best out of your visit. Whether you wish to train, play, relax or even compete, McLaren Leisure has all you need to fulfill your sport and leisure needs.

You can get to McLaren Leisure by bus.
The C60 stops at the leisure centre. The 1 and 59 stop nearby. The bus stop is 0.1 miles / 0.2 km from McLaren Leisure.

We have a car park. There are accessible parking spaces. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is free.
There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point has a dropped kerb.

We have contrast markings on all glass doors and high colour contrast between walls and doorframes.

We have 1 lift.
You can get a lift to all floors.

Lift to first floor

The lift door is 785mm wide.
The lift is 925mm wide. The lift is 1400mm deep.
The lift says the floor number at each floor.
The lift buttons have raised numbers or letters.
The lift shows the floor number, at each floor.

Spectator/ Audience viewing areas

We have a viewing area for wheelchair users.

Upstairs viewing areas

From the main entrance to the viewing area, there is level access. There is a permanent ramp. There is a lift.
Personal assistants and friends can sit with wheelchair users.
Wheelchair users can sit with their own fans.
Stewards can bring food and drink to wheelchair users.

We have viewing areas above the pool and sports hall, near to the cafe.

Swimming pool

McLaren Leisure Swimming Pool

From the main entrance to the swimming pool changing area, there is level access. The route is 1480mm wide, or more.
The door is 935mm wide.
There is a wide changing cubicle, for wheelchair users.
From changing area to the swimming pool, there is level access. The route is 2000mm wide, or more.
The door is 900mm wide.
The swimming pool has a hoist.

There are two doors to access the swimming pool area they are both on automatic closers and are both pull doors to enter and push doors to exit with handles at 1000mm. They are fairly close together and there is a 90 degree turn between them.

Our Poolpod provides quick and simple access to our swimming pool for wheel chair users and swimmers with difficulty using stairs.

From the main entrance to the gym changing area, there is level access. The route is 1480mm wide, or more.

There is a wide changing cubicle for a wheelchair user.

The direction of transfer onto the toilet is to the right.
There is 765mm at the side of the toilet. There is 1570mm in front of the toilet. The toilet seat is 425mm high. The toilets have handrails.

This door swings freely and is a push door to enter and a pull door to exit. It also has an Emergency Alarm with pull cord.

McLaren Leisure Cafe

From the main entrance to the dining area, there is level access. There is a lift. From the lift to dining area, the route is 2000mm wide, or more. To get to a table, there are no steps.
If you need table service, staff can help you.
The route through the dining area is 800mm wide, or more.
There is background music sometimes.
The table and plates have high colour contrast.
We cater for sugar free (diabetic), vegetarian, nut free and low fat specific diets.
