Welcome

Situated in the historic city of York, MAYFIELD is a semi-detached holiday house constructed in the 1920’s and is located in a residential road of similar style houses.
 
Mayfield is double glazed and centrally heated throughout, with an additional electric fire in the lounge area. All floor surfaces are carpeted with the exception of the kitchen and conservatory which have wooden laminate flooring and the upstairs bathroom which has vinyl flooring. Access to the first floor is via a carpeted staircase which has two separate flights turning through 180 degrees with a small landing in between. There are no downstairs bathroom or toilet facilities.

Travel by public transport

You can get to Mayfield by bus and train.
Nearest bus stop is approximately 150 metres along even pathways with a slight incline. The bus stop is 0.1 miles / 0.2 km from Mayfield.
The nearest train station is York. The train station is 1.5 miles / 2.4 km from Mayfield.

York railway station is 2.4 km away and is a mainline station serving many major locations such as London, Leeds and Scotland via direct services. There is lift access available to the platforms. A regular bus service runs from the station to the end of Mayfield Grove. Use of the bus from the station would require crossing main roads for which pelican crossings are available. Buses in York have wheelchair access via lowering to kerb level and priority spaces for wheelchair users are available on board. Alternatively, taxis are available from the station, either pre-booked or via the taxi rank located at the front of the station and approached via level access. Pick-up and drop-off via private cars is possible at the front of the station and there is a short stay car park, all with ground level access.

We have a car park. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is free.
There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point has a dropped kerb.

Front entrance has a porch with a step-over door mantle. There is an additional step into the house from inside the porch. Porch doors open to provide 110cms width access. Access to the rear of the property is via a level driveway. There is rear access to the property via two steps into a conservatory and then a further step into the house.

Lights are energy saving and traditional filament. Some lights can be controlled independently.

We have wi-fi free bedrooms, for visitors with electro-sensitivity.
No bedrooms have level access. The bedroom nearest the main entrance has 15 steps.

From the main entrance to the laundry, there is level access. We have an iron and ironing board. You can use the ironing board sitting down.

Access to the conservatory is through the kitchen. There is one step down into the conservatory. Access to the garden from the conservatory is via two steps.

From the main entrance to the gardens, there are 3 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

External access to the garden is on the level via a gate. Internal access to the gardens is via one step into the conservatory and two steps down into the garden.
