Welcome
Loch Druidibeg Community Nature Reserve covers 1100 hectares of moorland, loch and peat bog. The whole area gives a vista of the three hills of South Uist, with regular sightings of hen harriers, both white-tailed and golden eagle, black throated divers and whooper swans. The reserve is a low-impact reserve with a small car park, and two trails. One trail goes across the moorland, giving views of the loch and beyond, and the other goes through a small woodland.

Getting here
For further information on accessible travel in Scotland, go to Transport Scotland.Travel by public transport
The walk to the centre of the reserve follows a single track, public access road. There are plenty of places to step off onto the verge to avoid oncoming traffic. There is one cattle grid that needs to be crossed, right after getting off the bus.

Parking
There is very little visitor infrastructure on the reserve, however, there is a car park which is large. There is normally room to park a suitable distance from the nearest car. There are no hand rails or fences to help with stabilisation. There is an information board in place, and in the summer, there's a trailer with information. Both are sturdy structures.

Main entrance
The nature reserve is accessed on the same level as the carpark and road. Walk along the road to admire the sights, or walk a way along the Hebridean Way to access another part of the reserve.
The two trails are more difficult terrain.

Moorland and Loch Trail
The trail is a moorland path, whereby there is little infrastructure (basic stile) and no solid paths.

Designated Walking Trail
Woodland Trail
The trail is better underfoot than the moorland trail, and the slopes are slight in comparison. More work is being done to the trail to improve it for persons of lower mobility. The addition of a boardwalk across a wet area has enhanced the experience for users.
