Welcome

We aim to make all guests’ stay at Godshill Park Farm as enjoyable as possible. We are committed to providing suitable access whatever individual needs.  Description of our facilities and services gives you confidence to book a property matched to your specific requirements.

Lake View is modern, spacious and all on one level

The main entrance has level access.

There is level access from the main entrance to:

There is unobstructed floor space 1200mm by 900mm, or more.

Hearing

The fire alarm has flashing lights.
The (bedroom) TVs have subtitles.
Some staff have disability awareness training.

General

Staff are available 24 hours a day.
Some staff have disability awareness training.
We have emergency evacuation procedures for disabled visitors.

Travel by public transport

You can get to Lake View by bus.
Buses from Newport, Ryde, Shanklin and Ventnor stop at the bottom of our drive. Shanklin can be reached by train from Ryde Pier. Our drive is about quarter mile, level access, all tarmac. The bus stop is 0.3 miles / 0.5 km from Lake View.

Travel by taxi

You can get a taxi with Jays Taxi - Newport by calling 01983 756555. The taxi company has a wheelchair accessible vehicle.

You can get a taxi with Door 2 Door Taxis & Minibuses - Shanklin by calling 01983 404554. The taxi company has a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
We have a transfer service for visitors. Wheelchair users can use the transfer service.

We can collect guests in our private car by prior arrangement.

Wheelchairs need to be folded and go into the boot.

Parking

We have a car park. There are accessible parking spaces. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is free.
There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point has a dropped kerb.

Please let us know in advance if you require an accessible parking space. The path to the main entrance is mostly flat but there is a gentle slope.

Getting around inside

Bedrooms

All bedrooms have windows.
Bedrooms have ceiling lights and bedside lamps.
Lights are energy saving and traditional filament. TVs have subtitles.
All bedrooms are non-smoking.
We have non-allergic bedding.
All bedrooms have fitted carpets.
We can move the bedroom furniture, to improve accessibility.
From the main entrance to this area, there is level access.
The direction of transfer onto the toilet is to the left and right.

Self catering kitchen

Kitchen

We have an open plan kitchen.
From the main entrance to the kitchen, there is level access.
The route is 1000mm wide, or more.
The oven is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.

Worktop heights are 930mm

Lounge

From the main entrance to the lounge, there is level access. The route is 2000mm wide, or more.

Lounge/diner/kitchen are all open plan from main entrance - there are no doors and there is plenty of sapce.

Bathroom with shower

From the main entrance to this area, there is level access. The route is 1000mm wide, or more.
The door is 700mm wide.

From the main entrance to the gardens, there is level access.
The route is sloped. The route is 1000mm wide, or more.

From the main entrance to this area, there is level access. The route is 800mm wide, or more.
The entrance is 800mm wide.
To get to a table, there are no steps.

We provide wheelchairs. Wheelchairs are free.

Assistance dogs can relieve themselves not far from the main entrance. We will be happy to show you where.
We have an area to charge mobility scooters and battery powered wheelchairs.

There is an outdoor plug.

You can hire mobility equipment from Red Cross by calling 01983 522718.
