Accessibility Guide for Hurdlow Grange

Welcome

Hurdlow Grange is a collection of luxury farmhouses and converted barns that can sleep any combination of people between 4 and 45. Located around a central courtyard the properties have been designed to offer completely flexible accommodation depending on the size of your party. There are a total of six unique properties which can be booked individually, as any combination or as a venue for exclusive use.

Parking

We have a car park. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is free.

There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point has a dropped kerb.

From the parking to the main entrance, there is 1 step. There is no ramp and no lift.

Access to the cottage front entrance at Applegarth is a slight slope up which is paved and the access to The Pigsty is a slight slope down to the front door which is gravelled

All entrance doors are 900mm wide and open inward. Applegarth and The Pigsty have a slope to the front entrance

Getting around inside

All bedrooms have windows.

Bedrooms have ceiling lights, bedside lamps, spot lights and natural daylight.

Lights are LED. TVs have subtitles.

All bedrooms are non-smoking.

We have non-allergic bedding.

All bedrooms have fitted carpets.

We can move the bedroom furniture, to improve accessibility.

From the main entrance to this area, there is level access.

The direction of transfer onto the toilet is to the left and right.

From the main entrance to the terrace, there is 1 step.

Terraces are immediately in front of the main entrances which are paved. Amberleigh House terrace is behind the property.They have picnic benches and a BBQ

All individual properties on site have their own private garden space either in front of the cottages or behind. We do ask our guests to please clear up after their dogs.

Emergency evacuation procedures

We have emergency evacuation procedures for disabled visitors.

There are automatic fire detection units throughout all of the properties with emergency lighting too. There is a fire meeting point at the property main car park entrance. Each property has a fire blanket and extinguisher.
