Travel by public transport

You can get to Galleon House Calstock by bus and train.
The bus line 79A allows connections from Calstock to the historic market town of Tavistock every 2 hours. The bus leaves from the Tamar pub about 100m down the road and takes you to Tavistock centre. The bus stop is 0.1 miles / 0.2 km from Galleon House Calstock.
The nearest train station is Calstock Station. The train station is 0.3 miles / 0.5 km from Galleon House Calstock.

The picturesque Tamar Valley Line allows connections from Calstock Station to Plymouth every 2 hours. The station is up a steep hill from the house roughly 0.3 miles or 500m. From Plymouth visits to Totnes, Truro (Cornwall’s capital) Torquay and Bath are all possible in a day! Trains to London depart from Plymouth roughly once an hour.

You can get a taxi with Darrens Cars by calling +44 1579 556141. You can get a taxi with Tavistock Radio Taxis by calling +44 1822 616266. You can get a taxi with 4 hire taxi by calling +44 1822 618440. The taxi company has a wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Parking

There is parking near the venue. Parking is free.
There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point has a dropped kerb.
From the car park to the entrance, there is level access. There is a permanent ramp.
The path is sloped.
The route is 2000mm wide, or more.

Unfortunately there is no parking at the property; however, there is a large free parking area by the football field a 2-minute walk from the property. The walk from the parking (at Marsh Lane) to the property is up a moderate to steep incline, along a road, roughly a 150m walk (0.1 miles). For people with limited mobility, they can be dropped off at the property before parking in the designated parking area. Please be advised that the parking area is public and not monitored with CCTV, therefore, all valuables should be removed from the vehicle.

The house entrance is on a slightly inclined road, which has no pavement and level access to the property. However, the entrance has one large step to the manually opening door.

Lights are LED and energy saving. Some lights can be controlled independently.

The bedroom nearest the main entrance has 15 steps.

From the main entrance to the kitchen, there is 1 step. There is no lift and no ramp.
The work surface is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The hob is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The sink is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The oven is available at a height between 650mm and 900mm.
The table and plates have high colour contrast.

To get to a table, there are no steps.
From the main entrance to the terrace, there are 2 steps.
