Welcome

Glen Nevis Forestry House No.7 occupies a beautiful scenic location at a raised aspect on the edge of the Nevis Forest, maximising sweeping views at the front of the property to Ben Nevis. The house is on 2 levels with the lounge, bathroom (comprising bath with shower over) and kitchen situated downstairs. The bedrooms are situated upstairs, sleeping 5 people (one double, one single and one twin bedroom– all towels and bed linen are included).  Wifi is included. There is ample gravelled parking and an upward sloping gravelled path to the front door and 3 steps to the main entrance. The back entrance door into the kitchen, has one access step.

The main entrance has 3 steps and a handrail. There is no lift and no ramp.

Travel by public transport

You can get to Forestry House 7 by bus.
The nearest bus stop is outside the Glen Nevis Youth Hostel, which is 50m from our Self-Catering Reception building and 0.5 mile from the Forestry House.

From the Self Catering Reception building proceed back down the glen to the Glen Nevis Restaurant & Bar. Turn off the main road and continue to the back of the restaurant up the private drive towards the Nevis Forest and the Forestry House which will be directly facing you.  

Travel by taxi

You can get a taxi with Ace Taxis by calling 01397 704400 . The taxi company has a wheelchair accessible vehicle.

Parking

We have a car park. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is free.
There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point has a dropped kerb.
From the parking to the main entrance, there are 3 steps. There is no ramp and no lift.

From the street to the main entrance, there are 3 steps. There is no ramp and no lift.
The path is sloped.

Main entrance

The door is 780mm wide.
The main entrance has 3 steps.
This entrance has a handrail.
The main door is side hung and manual.

There is a back door to the property with 2 steps up, leading directly into the kitchen.

Getting around inside

Self Catering reception Office

There is a permanent ramp.
The door is 850mm wide.
The check-in desk has a low section for wheelchair users. You can sit down at reception.

Bedrooms

All bedrooms have windows.
Bedrooms have ceiling lights and bedside lamps.
Lights are energy saving. All bedrooms are non-smoking.
We have non-allergic bedding.
All bedrooms have fitted carpets.
All bedding used is Hypoallergenic (no feathers) and We can give details of our cleaning products on request.
The bedroom nearest the main entrance has 8 steps.
We have bathrooms with a bath and overhead shower. The direction of transfer onto the toilet is to the front only.

Self catering kitchen

Forestry House 7 Kitchen

We have a separate kitchen and dining room. The route is 860mm wide, or more.
The door is 700mm wide.
From the main entrance to the dining room, there are 2 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

There is a hall with 2 steps and an inner door leading the main ground floor hallway and the Kitchen, Lounge Diner and Bathroom.

Lounge

From the main entrance to the lounge, there are 2 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

There is a hall with 2 steps and an inner door leading the main ground floor hallway and the Kitchen, Lounge Diner and Bathroom.

From the main entrance to the gardens, there are 3 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.
The route is sloped.

Customer care support

Accessibility equipment

Lochaber Action on Disability and Shopmobility Lochaber provide a good range of mobility equipment available for loan or hire.  Guests will need to organise their equipment requirements directly with these service providers but we can store equipment at our reception for collection or place it in your unit for your arrival.

Due to our rural location there are numerous green areas for assistance dog use. Our nearby caravan and camping park also has two dedicated dog exercise areas.
