Welcome
Elbow Cottage lies on the Kennet and Avon Canal overlooking the River Avon in the picturesque Limpley Stoke valley. It is accessed by car from Turleigh down a half-mile farm track. In spite of its rural setting it is within 15 minutes walk of trains and buses and 40 minutes walk of Bradford on Avon. Bath is 12 minutes away by train and 20 minutes by bus.
The two-bedroomed holiday cottage is a modern addition to the original 1815 stone-built house in its acre of garden and its interesting history linked to the canal. It is a good base for walking, cycling, canoeing besides visiting Bath, Bristol, Salisbury etc

Getting here
Travel by public transport
However, Avoncliff station is only accessed by a long flight of steps so Bradford on Avon Station is better if guests have difficulty walking.
Travel by taxi
By car our access is down half a mile of farm track with 2 gates. This is not suitable for low slung cars though our Ford Fiesta is OK. If using a satnav, you should use the postcode BA15 2HH to Green Lane Turleigh. Turn right at the end of Green Lane in front of signs 'Private Road No Parking' and also 'Elbow Cottage'. Follow the farm track/bridleway for half a mile. Elbow Cottage is the only house on the left at the bottom of the track.
Parking
Cars can park immediately outside front entrance or 5 metres away on level ground.

Getting around outside
Front Terrace and back terrace
The front terrace looks west over the garden to the canal and beyond and gets the evening sun. The back terrace is enclosed without a view but gets the morning sunshine. Front and back doors have a shallow sill.
Elbow Cottage garden
The large garden is easily accessed from the cottage as the parking spaces are on the level with the cottage and the garden slopes gradually down to the canal or up to the side recreation area. There is a level path/yard/terrace round the house and guests can sit out at the front or the back.
Customer care support
There is a cork-topped stool in the bathroom and we can provide a carver chair with arms for the dining table.
There is an external power point under the front porch of the main house suitable for overnight charging
Emergency evacuation procedures
We have our normal evacuation procedure which would suit a disabled person provided they had a carer with them. We are usually in residence next door and can also help.
