Welcome to Dobson & Parnell

Dobson & Parnell, named after the two architects responsible for its design, is a bustling, smart, reliable and grown-up casual fine-dine restaurant on Newcastle’s vibrant quayside. Its understated elegant dining room adds a touch of Victorian glamour and comfort. Specialising in perfectly-executed, refined European cuisine, utilising preserving techniques and using ethically-sourced local sustainable and seasonal produce. Service is relaxed, informal and friendly yet professional with consistent attention to detail. We aim to provide access to people of all abilities as far as is practicable and possible.

Parking

There is parking near the venue. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is not free.
There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point does not have a dropped kerb.
From the car park to the entrance, there is level access. The route is 3400mm wide, or more.

There are 10 public metered street parking bays on Queen Street and more on the adjeacent streets. There are disabled parking bays located on the Quayside between King Street and Broad Chare NE1 3DE.

It is possible to drop off and collect guests at the front door loading bay should anyone prefer not to walk from and to the parking bays. Taxis always drop off and collect from the front door.

The main entrance has level access.
The door is 850mm wide.
The main door is side hung and manual.

There is access from street level through a set of double doors which open inwards with a clear width of 850mm. This leads to a small lobby then a door with a width of 850mm.The wooden floor is wheelchair friendly and the chairs and tables can be easily arranged to accommodate wheelchairs or walking aids. This area is well lit inside & out.

The route is 950mm wide, or more.
From the main entrance to the public toilet, there are 13 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

The main restaurant toilets are located on the groud floor. There are 13 steps 950mm wide and 18cm high. The toilet cubicle doors push inwards and are 65mm wide with a small step into them 5cm high.

From the main entrance to the dining area, there is level access. The route is 900mm wide, or more. To get to a table, there are no steps.

The table and plates have high colour contrast.
We cater for sugar free (diabetic), vegetarian, gluten free (celiacs), lactose free (dairy free), nut free, low fat, low sodium and vegan specific diets.

Most dishes can be adapted to cater for necessary dietary requirements. Whilst we try to avoid cross-contamination we cannot guarantee any dish is completely allergen free. 

Although we dont provide Halal or Kosher meat we do have a good range of vegetrian options.

We have an area to charge mobility scooters and battery powered wheelchairs.
