Hippersons boatyard is a unique, self catering, holiday destination in Beccles, with Quirky Houseboats and Secret Glamping hideaways floating on the Broads National park. A place to have fun with all the family, and a romantic getaway from it all escape. Life is not a dress rehearsal and everyone deserves time out with loved ones, making memories through fun and adventure, on and around the river.
There are many experiences provided on site to help you explore the Waveney Valley by Water and land :- Electric Day-boats (your boat for a day), Canoes and Kayaks, Stand Up Paddle boards (SUPs), Guided Paddle tours and a pedal boat.

The trains come from London, you need to change at Ipswich and then it brings you all the way to Beccles.
Travel by taxi
Goldline taxis are happy to assist guests into their taxis and stow wheelchairs in the boot, at this time they are unable to transport anyone who can not get out of their wheelchair.
Parking
Coot Club is on the river basin in Hippersons boatyard. It is a short walk round the edge of the basin area, the ground is grass and gravel, so it is lumpy and bumpy. There is a gate after you walk 50 steps on level ground and the latch to open it is at a metre off the ground.

The ramp to the property is tidal and therefore the slope of it will alter depending on the state of the tide.

Coot Club Lounge
The lounge is at the entrance of the houseboat and you enter straight into it. The sofas are at knee height to help getting up and down.
The living rooms has a smart TV with the ability to turn on subtitles
Public toilet
The public toilets are by reception and have 1 step up to them, at 300mm. Coot Club accommodation has its own toilet and on one level, as all the floor space inside the houseboat is at the same level. The bath side is 560mm and the door into the bathroom is 630mm.
Twin room
There is an L shaped bunk in the twin room, the top bunk is 1170mm high and the bottom bunk is 450mm off the ground,
Getting around outside
Coot Club opens out to Hippersons boatyard, this is an outdoor area and there is a path of grass and gravel that can be followed around to explore the area. There is one gate to get back into the boatyard, the same one as you used to get to Coot Club.

Our boatyard is a fantastic place for families who have members with autism. Our repeat guests who have autism comment on the privacy they feel. They find the information provided in advance helpful, and always feel welcome. We are happy to organise private SUP lessons and canoe tours for guests who need this to feel comfortable bringing the river to life.
