Cober Hill offers the perfect venue for a wide range of activities for groups and individuals. Our dedicated and versatile facilities provide flexibility in meeting groups specific requirements whilst the location and beautiful surroundings give plenty of opportunity for enjoyment and relaxation. Extensive accessible grounds of over 6 acres, together with the nearby coastal path, provide an excellent setting for quiet contemplation and refreshment. We offer a variety of delicious catering options with emphasis on homemade and locally sourced products. We also offer ample on site free parking, ground floor bedrooms and meeting rooms as well as opportunities for croquet, tennis, putting and clockgolf

The car park is directly outside the main reception entrance with the choice of either 5 steps or a sloped walkway to the doors. There are 2 designated spaces outisde the front entrance to the main building, and one for the annexe with the rest of the car park being one level and accessible also

Visual Impairment - General Information
Our staff are happy to meet guests in the main hall area if there are issues with the height of the reception desk.
Accessible bedroom Room 51 and Room 52 have been adapted for wheelchair users.
There are 2 additional bedrooms in the main building that are ground floor accessible and have walk in showers. There is also a stairlift to the first floor. In the annexe building, there are a number of ground floor rooms with showers that have step up trays. In 2020 it is the Cober Hill's centenary and we are fundraising to raise money to adapt a further 3 bedrooms

There is also a meeting hall opposite with level access. Door width is 1450 (double doors) plus disabled toilet facilities within the same corridor area

With prior notification we are able to cover all medically acknowledged diets. Kitchen department staff and front of house supervisors are qualified in catering for allergens.
All lounges are on level access from the main entrance doors. They vary in size and are all carpeted. Door widths are all 806mm. Due to the nature of the old building, the door and door surround are the same colour.
Getting around outside
The gardens are accessible for wheelchair users but we recommend that this is accompanied use as some of the inclines towards the bottom of the garden get gradually steeper. The main areas, including the seaview areas are accessible.
The areas is situated across the car park from the main reception area.
The patio area is accessible either from the front car park or from indoors via the Conservatory

We have a stairlift from the ground floor in the main building to the first floor for use by guests with lesser mobility.
We are happy to hire in equipment on guests' behalf from a local company

Emergency evacuation procedures
There is a duty manager on site 24 hours per day. We request that guests advise us before arrival of any requirements in the event of an emergency. Duty managers are then provided with this information to allow for immediate priority evacuation
Customer care support
Staff are available 24 hours per day. There are emergency phones situated in each area of bedrooms for immediate access to the reception / duty manager. We do not have telephones in bedrooms. Free wi-fi is provided across the site
Cober Hill operates on a not for profit basis and the Cober Hill Charitable Trust is happy to consider requests from guests for financial assistance for carers in order for guests to visit
