Blythswood House provides great value summer accommodation ideal for individuals, families and groups visiting the city for both leisure and work purposes. Situated within the city center, the accommodation offers self-catering flats with single ensuite bedrooms priced from £38. Blythswood House offers spacious and fully furnished accommodation with a contemporary feel. The accommodation is ideally situated in the heart of the city, close to a host of local bars, restaurants and shops. Due to our fantastic city center location, we are close to fantastic transport links including train, underground and bus links exploring the city itself and further afield.

Blythswood House is located in the City Centre of Glasgow, just of Blythswood Square. It is within a 10 minute distance of Glasgow’s transport links including Glasgow Central Station and Buchanan Street Bus station whilst Glasgow Queen Street is roughly 20 minutes from our venue by foot. If you are travelling by air, you are most likely to arrive at either Prestwick or Glasgow Airport. Should you travel to Prestwick Airport, you will be able to take a short train journey arriving at Glasgow Central, or if you travel to Glasgow Airport, you will find a bus link to Buchanan Street Bus station. All of the transport links mentioned do have taxi ranks available outside the premises, or if you prefer, we can give you a private hire taxi firm number.

There are accessible parking spaces at Blythswood House. The accessible parking bays are less than 50 metres away from the main entrance. There are limited park bays outside our main entrance, so it on a first come first served basis. There is also on street parking outside of Blythswood House and around Blythswood Square. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee there will be a parking space upon your arrival.

Upon arrival at Blythswood House, visitors will gain access to our accommodation via a ramp, a handrail and automatic doors – all of which are wide enough for wheelchair access. The reception area and all six floors have flat surfaces. Our accommodation is easily accessible with two onsite elevators which serve all flats. Our lifts are standard with doors that are used by both disabled and non-disabled users.

Personal Laundry
For guests who are staying for a longer period of time, or for those who would like to do personal laundering, Blythswood House has 3 washing machines and 3 tumble dryers located in the basement of our building. Guests will be charged £3.40 per wash and a free tumble dry. To gain access to the laundry room, guests will be able to take the lift to the basement floor. All of our washing machines and tumble dryers are front loaders.

The kitchen breakfast bar is 774mm heigh and has a clear underspace.

Our lounge areas are open plan alongside our kitchens. Each flat has two sofas and a small table within the lounge area, all of which is movable. Both sofas are 431mm high whilst the small table is 355mm high.

When reporting to our main reception area, you will find an accessible toilet located just beyond the main foyer. The doors are wide enough to allow wheelchair users to gain access and the toilet facility also has hand rails to support those who require their use.
Cinema Room
When guests are staying at Blythswood House, they are welcome to use the cinema room which is located in the basement of Blythswood House. This is a large open space with the option of a sofa and beanbags. It is fully accessible for all guests to use and is accessible via lift.

Emergency evacuation procedures
For guests staying at Blythswood House with a disability, we would kindly ask for the type of disability to be reported to us before arrival. For example, wheelchair users would require a different evacuation from someone who suffers from visual impairments. By reporting to us ahead of your arrival, we will be able to produce a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) based on an individual’s needs.
Customer care support
Our check-in hours are between 2pm and 11pm. Reception staff will be available at the main reception from the hours of 8am to 8pm. Out with these hours, one of our Senior Residents will be on hand to assist with any queries, late check-ins or emergencies. They are fully contactable via phone. Staff members at Blythswood House have participated in Visit Scotland’s accessible tourism training. This has given our staff a greater insight and understanding into equality, diversity and disability awareness.
