Welcome
A 16th C inn with spectaular, far reaching views, The Black Boy dates back to circa 1524 & is steeped in history! The origins of the name are not clear cut but the most common belief relates to Charles II (1660-1685) whose dark complexion earned him the nickname 'The Black Boy'.
The perfect place to meet, relax & enjoy a drink & fantastic, freshly prepared food using locally sourced & homegrown ingredients where possible. There’s a wide selection of vegetarian & vegan dishes, a Little Tummies menu for smaller appetites, & a host of bar snacks & sharing dishes.
We welcome families, food aficionados, dog walkers, local residents & those from futher afield!
