Welcome

Bell Rock Hotel has been welcoming guests for over 100 years, and we genuinely look forward to your visit. We are proud of our team of caring staff, who will do everything possible to ensure your stay with us is relaxing and enjoyable.

We are ideally situated in a level position, midway between Town Beach to the front and Porthcressa Bay at the rear. Both beaches are about 100 yards away!

Our location is very convenient, quiet and central. shops, entertainment and the museum are close by. The harbour is less than 10 minutes walk, with boats to Tresco, Bryher, St Agnes and St Martins daily in the season

Travel by public transport

You can get to Bell Rock Hotel by boat or ferry.
The nearest port is St Mary's Harbour. The port is 0.5 miles / 0.8 km from Bell Rock Hotel.

The Hotel is approximately a ten minute walk away from the harbour.

Flights can be taken from Land's End Airport, Newquay Airport & Exeter Airport to St Mary's

Travel by taxi

You can get a taxi with Toots Taxi by calling 01720422142. You can get a taxi with DJ Taxi by calling 01720423775. You can get a taxi with Paulger's Airport Transfers by calling 01720423701.

Taxis from Harbour to Hotel will need to be pre-booked.

Transfers from the Airport to the Hotel do not require pre-bookings as the minibus drivers meet every flight. Remember to book your return pick up at the same time when you are dropped off at the Hotel.

There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point does not have a dropped kerb.

Getting around inside

Reception

From the main entrance to reception, there is level access. You can sit down at reception.

Bedrooms

All bedrooms have windows.
Bedrooms have ceiling lights, wall lights, bedside lamps and natural daylight.
Lights are LED and energy saving. Some lights can be controlled independently.
TVs have subtitles.
All bedrooms are non-smoking.
We have non-allergic bedding.
All bedrooms have fitted carpets.
No bedrooms have level access. The bedroom nearest the main entrance has 8 steps.
All bedrooms are ensuite.
We have bathrooms with a separate shower.
We have bathrooms with a bath and overhead shower. The shower has a handrail.

From the main entrance to the lounge, there is level access. The route is 900mm wide, or more. The door is 900mm wide.

From the main entrance to the bar, there are 12 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

Bar & Restaurant are on the same level, 12 steps down from Reception area & front entrance.

From the main entrance to the swimming pool changing area, there are 16 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.
The door is 700mm wide.
From the changing area to the swimming pool, there are 16 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

To get to the pool area from reception (same as restaurant & bar), there are 12 steps down and also 4 steps up.

Public toilet

From the main entrance to the public toilet, there is level access. The route is 800mm wide, or more.
The toilet door is 800mm wide.
There is 400mm in front of the toilet. The toilet seat is 500mm high.

Place to eat and drink

Restaurant

From the main entrance to the dining area, there are 12 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.
To get to a table, there are 12 steps.
If you need table service, staff can help you.
We cater for sugar free (diabetic), vegetarian, gluten free (celiacs), lactose free (dairy free), low fat and vegan specific diets.

Special diets must be advised of in advance of arrival.

1st & 2nd Floor

From the main entrance to this area, there are 18 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

Georgian Staircase with Turn. Each flight has 18 steps (2nd floor therefore 36 steps)

Hotel is listed building. As such a lift is unable to be fitted and the fabric of the building can't be changed.
