Welcome

Ambleview is a one bedroom apartment on the first floor of a purpose built holiday apartment block in Ambleside. The building is accessed at the rear from a car park with level access into the building at third floor level with stair and lift access to the accomodation levels. The building itself is on a hillside, accessed by a reasonably steep road and very steep footpath path or steps. Access from car park is down in lift, one step up through a door into the corridor and level access to the apartment door and interior thereafter.

Travel by public transport

You can get to Ambleview by bus and train.
Ambleside Bus interchange is on Kelsick Road, 0.3 miles from Ambleview. Buses link Ambleside with popular nearby Lake District desitnations including Grasmere, Keswick, Windermere and Bowness. The bus stop is 0.3 miles / 0.5 km from Ambleview.
The nearest train station is Windermere. The train station is 4.7 miles / 7.6 km from Ambleview.

Windermere train station is on an extension line from Oxenholme which is itself on the West Coast Main Line. There is a bus interchange at the station and buses to Ambleside will take around 20 minutes.

Travel by taxi

You can get a taxi with Amber Taxis by calling 015394 42000.

Parking

We have a car park. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is free.
There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point has a dropped kerb.
From the car park to the entrance, there is level access. The route is 2000mm wide, or more.

The main door is side hung and manual.

The main entrance as described here is the entrance to the building. There is a further entrance to the apartment which necessitates using one step. At present there is no ramp provided.

You can get a lift to all floors.

The lift is 1070mm wide. The lift is 1380mm deep.

Bedrooms have ceiling lights, wall lights, desk or table lamps and natural daylight.
Lights are halogen and LED. TVs have subtitles.

We can move the bedroom furniture, to improve accessibility.
From the main entrance to this area, there is level access.
The direction of transfer onto the toilet is to the left and right.

The route to the bedroom is 1140mm wide, or more. The bedroom door is 660mm wide. There is 750mm at the side of the bed. The bed is 600mm high. The bedroom is flexible (either double or twin). The bedroom has an interconnecting room. The bathroom is separate. It is not an ensuite.
The bathroom door is 620mm wide.
The bathroom has a separate shower. The bathroom has a bath.
The direction of transfer onto the toilet is to the left. There is 860mm at the side of the toilet.
There is 800mm in front of the toilet. The toilet seat is 430mm high.
The basin is 840mm high. There is no space under the basin.

From the main entrance to the kitchen, there is level access.
