Welcome

A family run bed and breakfast offering high quality accommodation and excellent breakfast in the centre of Berwick-upon-Tweed.  Within easy walking distance of the town centre and the historic town walls and just half a mile from the main east coast railway station. Originally built as officers' married quarters for the nearby historic barracks which now contains the town and KOSB museums.  Alannah House has a well maintained and secluded garden and patio area for guests' use. It is also a member of the cyclists and walkers welcome schemes and is a recipient of Kellogg's breakfast award and Visit England's ROSE award.  A warm welcome is assured.

Travel by public transport

You can get to Alannah House by bus and train.
The nearest bus stop is in Chapel Street, Berwick-upon-Tweed adjacent to the Tourist Information/Library building. The bus stop is 0.1 miles / 0.2 km from Alannah House.
The nearest train station is Berwick-upon-Tweed. The train station is 0.5 miles / 0.8 km from Alannah House.

Railway station is a 10 minute walk but there are usually plenty of taxis waiting outside the station.

The bus stop is very close and the buses drive past Alannah House, speak nicely to the driver and he may let you off outside!

Travel by taxi

Parking

There is parking near the venue. The parking is less than 50 metres from the main entrance. Parking is free.
There is a drop-off point at the main entrance. The drop-off point does not have a dropped kerb.
From the parking to the main entrance, there is 1 step. There is no ramp and no lift.

Bedrooms

All bedrooms have windows.
Bedrooms have ceiling lights, wall lights, floor standing lights, bedside lamps and natural daylight.
Lights are LED and energy saving. All bedrooms are non-smoking.
We have non-allergic bedding.
All bedrooms have fitted carpets.
The bedroom nearest the main entrance has 18 steps.
We have bathrooms with a separate shower.
Some showers have a handrail.

Place to eat and drink

Dining room

From the main entrance to the dining area, there is 1 step. There is no lift and no ramp.
To get to a table, there are no steps.
If you need table service, staff can help you.
The route through the dining area is 800mm wide, or more.
There is background music.
We cater for vegetarian, gluten free (celiacs), lactose free (dairy free), nut free and vegan specific diets.

Getting around outside

Alannah House

From the main entrance to the gardens, there are 8 steps. There is no lift and no ramp.

There is a level access to the patio area and from there there are steps down to the garden.
