Welcome
Bromwich Hall was once the home of the Lords of the Manor of West Bromwich with the oldest parts of the building dating back to the 1270s. Over its 750 year history the building has been the home of some notable individuals including the Attorney General to Charles I and some ordinary families when the building was used as tenements in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Bromwich Hall was later a pub remembered affectionately by locals closing in 2009. The site is now a museum and heritage attraction telling its long story and hosting a wide variety of events, activities community projects, school holiday fun and more throughout the year.

Main entrance
After visiting reception the entrance to the building for all visitors is at the rear of the house. There is a door which is left open so visitors do not have to open the door themselves. There is a portable ramp available to entre the great hall and staff are on hand to help should you require assistance. There is also a portable ramp down a small step into the main body of the great hall. Sadly due to the nature of the house, the rest of the building is accessed via steps. However we do have photos of the rest of the building so please let us know before your arrival and we will make a virtual tour available to you.

The Great Hall
The great hall is the only area of the building which is truly accessible for people with mobility problems. Due to the age and nature of the building there are no lifts to other parts of the building. Staff are happy to give you a virtual tour using our photographs.
For visually impaired visitors staff are on hand to give you plenty of information about the building and answer any questions and we are happy for you to ask to tpuch any of the replica items on display. Information panels are in large readable text.
Due to the age of the building floors can be uneven and stairs can be steep and lighting levels can be low.
On event days our spaces can become rather noisy and full of people.
On open days which are available to look around the house our spaces are usually calm and quiet.
Please don't hesitate to ask for any assistance.
